Our History
Our roots began in 1945. Doug Fisher founded Fisher's Office Machine Company, a small typewriter and calculator company to sell and service local San Diego businesses. (The birth of Imaging Technologies) Nineteen years later in 1964, Kent Fisher (Doug's son) begins his career at Fisher's Office Machine Company as a Service Technician. In 1975, Kent purchases Fisher's Office Machine Company from his father and changes the company name to The Machine Age. For the next 30 years Kent grows The Machine Age and the company becomes one of San Diego's most respected local companies.
In 2005, John Stavola, with over 20 years industry experience purchases The Machine Age from Kent. Six months later John purchases an additional local company, iCopy. The company name changes to Velocity Imaging Products. Three short years later and on the "other side of town" Kyocera Mita America (one of the world's most recognized printing and document output device's manufacturer) purchases Imaging Technologies and along with John enter into a joint venture that becomes "the new" Imaging Technologies. John and Kyocera Mita America, Inc. have history of working together dating back to 1991. Immediately, Imaging Technologies is recognized as one of San Diego's fastest growing companies, listed as the ninth largest office equipment company in the 2010 San Diego Business Journal Book of Lists and listed with the San Diego Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.
